A migraine headache causes severe throbbing pain or a pulsing sensation, usually on one side of the head. Light and sound sensitivity are often accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

The aura is a warning symptom that some people experience before or with a headache. There may be visual disturbances such as flashes of light or blind spots associated with an aura. It can also include other symptoms, such as tingling in an arm or leg or difficulty speaking.

Preventive and pain-relieving medications can help manage migraine headaches. Here at Gramercy Pain Center, we offer safe and effective treatments for clients suffering from migraines.

If you want to get rid of a sinus headache, you need to treat its underlying cause. An infection of the sinuses can result in sinus headaches. Sinus infections can be caused by anything that causes mucus buildup in the sinuses.

Sinus headaches can be treated in several ways:

- Antihistamines
- Decongestants
- Nasal irrigation
- Pain medication
- Massages for relieving sinus pain

Sinus infections are caused by viruses, bacteria, and sometimes fungi. The majority of viral infections are self-resolving. A bacterial or fungal infection, however, requires antibiotics or antifungal medications. To ease discomfort, your healthcare provider may also prescribe other medications.

Here at Gramercy Pain Center, we offer different treatments for sinus headaches. Schedule a consultation with us today.

Sinusitis, whether allergic, nonallergic or fungal, can cause changes in sinus pressure, causing headaches. Having allergies, a weak immune system, nasal growths (polyps) or asthma can increase the risk of sinus headaches and sinusitis.

Mucus gives germs an opportunity to grow. The sinuses become irritated as germs build up. As a result, sinus tissue swells, blocking the passage of mucus. Your face feels tender and achy when you have swollen, inflamed sinuses filled with liquid.

At Gramercy Pain Center, we have headache specialists who are here to help you manage your sinus headaches.

Sinus headaches are headaches that may feel like infections in the sinuses (sinusitis). Symptoms include pain in the face and sinuses, stuffy nose, fatigue, and an achy feeling in the upper teeth.

Sinus headaches are caused by sinus infections, which cause pressure and pain in your face. Sinus headaches are more likely to occur when you have a cold or allergies. Some sinus headaches may actually be migraine headaches with nasal symptoms. Then a doctor can provide long-term relief.

To know more about the different symptoms of sinus headaches, book an appointment here at Gramercy Pain Center. We offer safe and effective treatments for headaches.

You can suffer from a pinched or compressed nerve in your spine when a disc herniates. A herniated disc can cause numbness, weakness, tingling, shooting pain, and bowel and bladder problems-symptoms that can negatively impact your quality of life.

Injuries and improper lifting can cause discs to bulge or herniate, or they can occur spontaneously. Aging plays a critical role. Your discs become less flexible as you age. Fibrous outer walls of the disc may weaken over time. When it touches a nerve, the gel-like nucleus may rupture or bulge through a tear in the disc, causing pain. Smoking, genetics, and some occupational and recreational activities can result in early disc degeneration.

To know more about the herniated discs, you may schedule a consultation here at Gramercy Pain Center. With a commitment to providing cutting edge treatment for back pain and spine injuries, our team is at your service.

A herniated disc (also known as bulged, slipped, or ruptured) occurs when a fragment of the disc nucleus pushes into the spinal canal through a tear or rupture in the annulus. Herniated discs are usually in an early stage of degeneration.

There are some herniated discs that cause no symptoms. There are also those that can irritate nearby nerves and cause pain, numbness, or weakness in an arm or leg. In some cases, discs do not require intervention. Medication, physical therapy, and surgery may be necessary when needed.

Gramercy Pain Center offers several treatments for herniated discs. We can answer all your questions if you schedule a consultation with us.

The treatment of spinal stenosis depends on what is causing your symptoms, the location of the problem, and the severity of the symptoms. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen, posture improvement, and physical therapy can treat mild cervical spinal stenosis. In more serious cases, spinal surgery will be needed to relieve the compression.

Getting relief from cervical spinal stenosis starts with evaluating your symptoms so your treatment can be tailored to your specific needs. Here at Gramercy Pain Center, we offer treatment options for clients who are suffering from this condition.

Osteoarthritis is the most common cause of cervical spinal stenosis in older patients. Arthritis changes the spine joints, narrowing the canal. Along the edge of spine bones, bony growths called spurs may form.

In addition to causing changes in the spongy discs that cushion your vertebrae, arthritis can also affect the ligaments that connect them.

Depending on the cause and symptoms, you can improve your health and reduce your risk of chronic or long-term pain. To know more about the cervical spinal stenosis treatments, you may schedule a consultation here at Gramercy Pain Center.

Correct posture and proper body mechanics are some of the most effective ways to prevent cervical spinal stenosis from progressing and to keep your back healthy. Every time you sit, stand, lift a heavy object, or sleep, you should practice proper posture and body mechanics. Cervical spinal stenosis, like arthritis, cannot be reversed, but treatment can slow its progression and prevent further narrowing.

Because cervical spinal stenosis is primarily caused by aging, it is difficult to prevent. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't take proactive steps to maintain your spine's health. Your back and neck may benefit from exercise and proper body mechanics as a strong defense against cervical spinal stenosis.

To know more about the different ways to prevent cervical spinal stenosis from worsening, you may schedule a consultation here at Gramercy Pain Center.

Neck pain is commonly caused by cervical spinal stenosis. It occurs when the vertebrae of the neck and the joints between them change. As bone spurs form, cervical spinal stenosis occurs. As bone spurs grow, the spinal canal narrows, putting pressure on the spinal cord and nerves.

The cause of cervical spinal stenosis is spinal degeneration. Discs lose water content as they degenerate. Our discs become brittle and dry as we age, causing the disc space between our vertebrae to collapse. During this collapse, extra pressure is placed on the joints behind the spinal cord, and the tunnel where spinal nerves exit becomes narrower.

Here at Gramercy Pain Center, we offer safe and effective treatments for clients suffering from cervical spinal stenosis.

The consumption of dairy products and refined sugar contribute to nasal congestion and inflammation. There are some foods that contain or cause the body to release histamine. Furthermore, some foods also contain tyramine, which can also trigger sinus headaches.

Sinus inflammation is most commonly caused by bacteria, but viruses and allergies can also contribute. Food intake should be monitored regardless of the cause or severity of the infection.

At Gramercy Pain Center, our team is here to help you determine your sinus headaches triggers. Schedule a consultation with us to learn more.
