An episodic tension headache occurs less than 15 days a month for at least 3 months. This type of headache usually lasts around 30 minutes to a week.
On the other hand, a chronic tension headache occurs for more than 15 days or more for at least 3 months. The pain from this type of headache lasts for hours and may become continuous.
